Liability Waiver & Release

I understand that my participation in this event, hosted by Padma Shedrup Ling (“Padma”) and its staff, may involve mental, intellectual, and emotional activity, which may tax my capabilities.  I understand and acknowledge that my participation in this meditation retreat, and all associated events, to be held at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland Colorado, is purely voluntary. I acknowledge my responsibility for exercising my own judgment in choosing to participate in this event.  By this consent I knowingly and voluntarily assume the risk of any injury, be it physical or emotional, to myself or caused to others by me during the course of this event.

I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge, and understand that this Release discharges, any and all claims and causes of action of every kind and nature that I would otherwise have against Padma, and its officers, directors, employees, and agents (“Representatives”), whether acting officially or otherwise, including without limitation claims which may otherwise arise from personal injury, illness, death, property damage, or any other liability, and any and all claims for attorneys’ fees and costs.

I also hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Padma of all liability, claims, suits and damages for any injury to myself and for any injury to others caused by me.

I further acknowledge that the activities described above may be more mentally and/or emotionally demanding than my usual activities.

IT IS MY INTENTION BY THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE TO EXEMPT AND RELIEVE THE FOUNDATION AND ITS REPRESENTATIVES FROM ALL LIABILITY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION  LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR WRONGFUL DEATH CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE.

I expressly agree that this Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of California, and that this Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California.
